How do I make a dark photo brighter online?
Upload the photo, raise the brightness value, apply the change and download the image. You can repeat with a different value until it looks right.
A value of +10 to +25 is usually enough for a dim indoor photo; much higher and the brightest areas turn pure white and lose detail.
Can I make a picture darker too?
Yes. Use a lower brightness value to darken the image, or try the ToolXoX Darken and Exposure tools for finer control.
Why do the bright parts of my photo turn white when I raise the brightness?
Brightness pushes every pixel lighter by the same amount, so areas that were already bright reach pure white and cannot get any lighter. That detail is gone for good. If this happens, lower the value a little, or try the Exposure or Gamma tool, which lift the shadows and midtones without blowing out the highlights.
