Will textures and materials be preserved?

Formats that support materials (GLB, GLTF, OBJ+MTL) retain UV maps, textures, and PBR maps when converting between them. Geometry-only formats like STL will drop color and material data. OBJ→GLB and GLB→OBJ are the most reliable paths for keeping textures.

How do I convert GLB to OBJ?

Why do colours or textures go missing after conversion?

Some formats, such as STL, only store geometry and cannot hold colours or textures. If you convert from a richer format to one of these, the appearance is lost by design. Convert to GLB or GLTF when you need materials, and keep texture files together with OBJ models.
